From Blue Valley School to Lancaster University: Bianca Nieto’s Journey into Business Leadership

I’m Bianca Nieto, and I’ve been accepted to Lancaster University, where I plan to study Business Management (with a year in Industry) over the next four years. This opportunity represents more than just the next step in my education, it reflects years of curiosity, dedication, and support from my teachers, family, and friends. Being accepted into a program that combines academic learning with real industry experience feels incredibly exciting, and it marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I look forward to developing the skills, knowledge and perspective needed to succeed in the business world while growing both
academically and personally during my time at university.

My interest in business began during my time at school, where subjects that explored leadership and problem-solving captured my attention. I found myself especially interested in understanding how organizations make decisions, how markets evolve, and how innovative ideas can shape industries.

One moment that strengthened my interest was working on school projects that required teamwork, planning, and creative thinking. I enjoyed analyzing challenges, discussing ideas with others, and finding practical solutions to real-world problems. These experiences showed me that business is not just about numbers or strategy, it's about people, communication, and the ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment.

Exploring different subjects also helped me understand what motivates me the most. I discovered that I enjoy thinking strategically, understanding how companies grow, and exploring ways businesses can create value while making a positive impact. This curiosity led me to pursue Business Management, where all my interests come together.

The Business Management (Industry) program at Lancaster University stood out to me because of its focus on practical experience alongside academic study. The opportunity to gain real industry exposure during the degree would allow me to apply what I learn in the classroom to real-world situations. I believe this combination of theory and hands-on experience will help me build the confidence and skills needed to succeed in a competitive global environment.
Looking back at my journey so far, I feel grateful for the opportunities and encouragement that have shaped my path. My school environment encouraged curiosity, independence, and critical thinking.

As I plan to prepare for this new stage at Lancaster University, I feel both excited and motivated. University will bring new challenges, new perspectives, and new opportunities for growth. I am eager to meet people from different backgrounds, learn from experienced professors, and develop the leadership and analytical skills needed in modern business.
