LIBRARY
Welcome to the library
The BVS Library provides information, assistance and services to students from Montessori through high school. Our collection supports our curriculum and has over 22,000 printed and non-printed media, including videos, books, electronics, audiovisual materials, and a collection of magazines which reflect the latest scientific news, politics and the arts.
Our Montessori students and parents enjoy the Book Balcony: an area designed for reading and demonstrations that invite small children to explore the magical world of literature and the pleasure of reading.
Parents and their children are welcome to use the facilities and check out books in English or Spanish to read at home.
Families that read together stay together!
RESOURCES
Students are encouraged to visit the library’s website, WebPath Express, for their assignments and reports. They will practice to look for reliable information and develop autonomy in their investigation.
PROGRAMS
The librarians collaborate with teachers in research from elementary up to IB. In middle school, the eighth grade students come to the library weekly for their Research Class. The students form teams to critically analyze materials and various sources of information on their chosen topic. They attend conferences and watch videos in order to prevent plagiarism as they work on their theses.
EVENTS
Library promotes a dynamic environment for learning and interactive activities, where students reinforce their library skill classes with field trips, reading programs during the Book Month, poetry recital, workshops, lectures, exhibitions, etc.
